KOA’s Annual Report Shows Glamping Growth
Kampgrounds of America released its annual North American Camping & Outdoor Hospitality Report, and it shows a big uptick in camping across the board in 2023. A newer addition to the report is glamping, and KOA’s research shows that cabin camping and glamping was up 101% in the past year, with even more people saying they’re interested in trying it for the first time.

BP Eyes Tesla’s Supercharger Network Amid Layoffs
Oil giant BP is reportedly looking to acquire Tesla Supercharger sites across the U.S. and is pledging $1 billion toward the expansion. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently fired his Supercharger team with little explanation, incentivizing competitors in the EV charging space to step in and pick up the slack.

…But Tesla Says Its Still Expanding
Despite the layoffs, Musk posted on X last week that Tesla is spending more than $500 million on expanding its Supercharger network in 2024. He did not specify how the company is planning to do this without the team previously in charge of the network.

The Dyrt Names Best Places to Camp in 2024
Last week, campground finder app The Dyrt announced the winners of its annual Best Places to Camp awards. The list is split into six regions (Pacific, Mountain, Central, Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast) with 10 winners in each region. For the third year running, the company also named the top 10 places to glamp in the U.S., as part of its 2024 Glampy Awards.
